The tablet was first launched at CES 2014 back in January

ASUS has launched its 8-inch VivoTab Note 8 back at CES 2014, a device meant to compete with slates like Acer’s Iconia W4, Toshiba Encore 8, Dell Venue 8 Pro and Lenovo’s IdeaTab Miix 2.

Since then, the tablet showed up for purchase in the UK, but customers in the US weren’t sure when they might be able to grab it. Anyway, the wait is over, as the VivoTab Note 8 with 32GB is now available in the Microsoft Store (online) for $329 / €241 a pop (with free shipping).

Back at CES, ASUS said that the 64GB version would come at the above rate, while the 32GB would sell for $299 / €219, but apparently things changed in the meantime.

To jog your memory, the ASUS slate has an 8-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and draws power from an Intel Atom Z3740 quad-core processor (from the Bay Trail family) with 2GB of RAM and backed up by 32GB of internal storage.

One of the main selling points of the tablet should be the fact that the product comes equipped with a Wacom smart-stylus, reportedly capable of supporting up to 1,000 levels of pressure sensitivity.

[UPDATE]: The device seems to be Out of stock, at the moment, so it seems the initial batch has already sold out.
