In order to upgrade its CULV offering, and to provide a wider variety to its laptop line, color-wise, ASUS has been working on the UL30Vt-A1 mobile PC. This offering builds upon the design of the UL30Vt-X1. The UL30 series of mobile computers was developed for high mobility and ultra-long battery life, with its only disadvantage being the lack of color variety. This latest CULV (Consumer Ultra-Low Voltage) model has not been officially introduced, but has somehow managed to make its way to Amazon.

The laptop measures 12.9 x 9.3 x 1 inches, has a weight of 3.7 pounds and uses the Intel SU7300 Core 2 Duo Processor, which has a clock speed of 1.3GHz. The maximum memory attainable is of 4GB thanks to two individual DDR3 slots.

The system is constructed with a switchable graphics solution. More specifically, the configuration includes both an Intel GMA 4500MHD and NVIDIA G210M graphics with 512MB DDR3. In addition, the UL30Vt-A1 is outfitted with an SATA hard drive, whose storage capacity amounts to 500GB and that has a rotary speed of 5400RPM.

The CULV laptop employs Wi-Fi 802.11 bgn and Bluetooth for connectivity and is also built with a 0.3M Webcam. Furthermore, it is capable of running the Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) operating system. Nevertheless, the more notable upside of this device, compared with previous line models, is the more capable 8-cell 5600mAh battery. This component will enable the system to last, on battery power alone, for up to 12 hours.

The ASUS UL30Vt-A1 is currently listed at $849.00 ($50 more than the X1), but it is only available for pre-order, with the actual shipping date still unknown. The case is colored silver and the complete product bundle includes, besides the laptop itself, a copy of the 64-bit Windows 7 Home premium.
