Computer manufacturer ASUS has recently revealed it was planning to release two Chromebook models in 2014. Now it appears that the company is prepared to shed light on its shipping estimates for the year to come.

However, sources inside the company have revealed the information, a little bit ahead of its time.

According to them ASUS expects to ship up to 13 million tablets in the year to come, reports Tablet-News. Competing companies like Samsung have announced its plan to focus on tablets in 2014, so ASUS will have to come with some interesting models in order to maintain the estimate. Some new models from the MeMO Pad and Transformer Pad family might do the trick.

On top of that, ASUS is one of the three pretenders, aside LG and HTC, Google is considering to partner up with, in order to manufacture the third-generation Nexus 7 tablet.

Interestingly enough, ASUS believes it will end up selling more notebooks in 2014, with numbers set at 20 million units. CEO Jerry Shen apparently believes that notebook business will increase in the year to come, as the company plans to unveil some innovative products.
