Revealed earlier this year at the CeBIT 2009 computer show in Hanover, Germany, ASUS' P-series portable computer systems have been designed to deliver the necessary performance and array of features required by business users. The Taiwanese company has announced today the introduction of a new model that will be part of this mobile business series. Simply dubbed P30A, the new business notebook is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and is said to deliver an impressive performance level in an ultraportable form factor.

According to the technical sheet of the new P30A from ASUS, the business laptop is powered by a low-power Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor, running at a cool 1.4GHz speed. The system is designed to provide support for up to 4GB of DDR2 800MHz memory, thanks to the integrated two memory SO-DIMMs. Boasting a single SATA HDD 2.5-inch storage solution, users can take advantage of either a 250GB or a 320GB capacity, coming in either a 5400RPM or 7200RPM solution.

The laptop is built using a 13.3-inch 16:9 1366x768 LED-backlit display that integrates a 1.3MP webcam. In addition, the system boasts an internal ultra-slim DVD super multi optical drive, Bluetooth V2.1+EDR, support for 3G/3.5G antenna, WiMAX and the traditional wired Ethernet LAN. Measuring 32.3cm x 23.2cm x 2.61cm, the P30A comes in at a weight of just 1.5Kg, featuring a 4-cell battery.

No word on pricing and availability of the P30A, but when it becomes available it will provide users with a choice for an ultraportable computer system that is encased in a magnesium alloy chassis and offers built-in features such as AI Pre-boo Finger Logon, Intel's Anti-Theft technology and AI Secure Delete, all of which are meant to boost the security of the user's confidential data.
