The two new video cards that ASUD has just launched were actually spotted first a while ago, but only now have they been officially released.

Called Radeon R9 290X DirectCU II and R9 290 DirectCU II, they feature the same dual-fan cooling module but different color highlights on the black shroud: red on the non-X, gold on the 290X.

They should be able to run at 20% lower temperature than the stock boards, while causing a third of the noise.

The Radeon R9 290X has a GPU clock of 1050 MHz, while the R9 290 makes do with 1000 MHz. 4 GB of GDDR5 VRAM is available on both (5400 MHz and 5040 MHz, respectively).

Furthermore, the DIGI+ VRM is built with extremely heard-wearing polymerized organic-semiconductor capacitors (POSCAPs).

Finally, Dual-link DVI (two ports), HDMI and DisplayPort outputs are included on both.
