It comes in both a standard version and an overclocked iteration

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 graphics card isn't all that overpowered, but it's still strong enough to be considered high end, which is why ASUS chose to add the Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand to it.

It didn't just toss the sticker on it though. The ROG series of hardware products has a certain standard and aesthetic theme that must be met.

So the company has installed a new cooler on it, one that boasts the familiar black and red theme, and has also overclocked the graphics processing unit.

On one of the cards anyhow. The Striker GTX 760 graphics card comes in two forms after all, one with reference clocks and one with factory OC.

The Standard version sticks to the normal specks, as the name implies, but the Platinum card is factory overclocked by a significant margin.

Here are the details. We'll start with the “Standard” Striker GTX 760 video card for now, which has 4 GB of GDDR5 VRAM clocked at 6 GHz (6008 MHz).

The graphics processing unit has a base frequency of 980 MHz and a GPU Boost maximum speed of 1033 MHz.

The Striker GTX 760 Platinum, however, normally runs at 1085 MHz and has a maximum GPU Boost potential of 1150 MHz.

Both video cards are otherwise identical in their support for OpenGL 4.3 graphics rendering, PCI Express 3.0, 256-bit memory interface, 1,152 CUDA cores, and four video ports.

To be more specific, the cards each possess two dual-link DVI connectors, an HDMI output, and a DisplayPort 1.2 connector.

Add to that the power cable and the SLI bridge link and you have all you need to give your PC the ability to run any game. Even if a single card doesn't handle 4K resolutions on multiple monitors well, two or three of them will, in SLI.

As for the cooler, the Striker GTX 760 Standard and Striker GTX 760 Platinum, or at least the latter, has the new DirectCU II with CoolTech fans. DIGI+ voltage-regulator module (VRM) and Super Alloy Power components provide a higher stability for the PCB, while the cooler disperses heat better than the stock solution (which has a single fan and is otherwise less efficient).

Thanks to DIGI+ VRM and exceptionally durable Super Alloy Power components (black metallic solid-state capacitors, 8-phase Super Alloy Power chokes and hardened MOSFETs), the adapter should easily last for years, decades even. It's too bad prices weren't mentioned, even though shipments will start this month.
