ASUS, one of the world's leading vendors of netbooks, has once more refreshed its lineup of Eee PC systems with the introduction of the Intel Atom N280-powered 1002H model. The new system has just been listed on the company's website and it looks pretty similar to ASUS' first N280-based Eee PC, the 1000HE model. Actually, aside from the fact that the Eee PC 1002H comes with a smaller battery, only capable of up to 5 hours of battery life, you will pretty much get the same netbook.

The Eee PC 1002H is designed to boast a 10-inch LED backlight 1024x600 WSVGA display, Intel's Atom N280 processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory and up to 160GB of storage space. Aside from that, the netbook also features support for WLAN 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth V2.0, a 1.3MP webcam and, as with almost every other Eee PC product currently available, 10GB of online Eee Storage.

On the connectivity side, the Eee PC 1002H comes with a VGA port, three USB 2.0 ports, one Ethernet LAN RJ-45 port, two audio jacks and a multi-card reader. The Li-Polymer battery is good for about 5 hours of battery life, probably one of the negative aspects of the new Eee PC netbook. However, the smaller-capacity battery allows the netbook to trim off some of its overall weight, which is currently specified at 1.2kg, compared to the 1.45kg on the Eee PC 1000HE.

There's at least one more visible difference between the 1002H and the 1000HE, which can be spotted on the netbook's touchpad and lid. The 1002H uses a single mouse button beneath the touchpad, while the 1000HE comes with two buttons.

Both models are available in a choice of pearl white, pink or black, but the company is yet to reveal the availability and pricing details of its new N280-equipped Eee PC netbook.
