The boards will be part of the ROG series whenever they finally come out

Pretty much every Intel, AMD and NVIDIA OEM, whether motherboard or graphics card maker, or both, has a high-end, gamer/enthusiast product line. ASUS is preparing to update its Republic of Gamers collection.

Republic of Gamers, or ROG for short, is composed of motherboards, graphics cards and other things.

The new products that ASUS is preparing are both video boards though. One is the MATRIX R9290X, based on the Radeon R9 290X, AMD's best single-GPU board at the moment.

The other is called MATRIX GTX780TI and, as you may have guessed, is based on the strongest single-GPU NVIDIA card, GeForce GTX 780 Ti.

The specifications aren't know, and probably won't be until launch, although I suppose that pre-release leaks could still happen.

The pictures do reveal a few things though, like the dual 8-pin power connectors, video output loadout (dual-DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort) and the 14-phase DIGI+ VRM (voltage regulation module, for overclocking).

Even a backplate is included, as are some hardcore OS things like an LN2 Mode Switch (in case you're up for a hardcore overclocking run involving liquid nitrogen).

The dual-slot cooler covering the custom PCB has black nickel-plated heatsinks and five direct contact copper heatpipes. And that goes for both cards, in case you weren't sure.
