Taiwanese netbook pioneer ASUS has just announced the official debut of its much-anticipated EeeTop ET20/22 Series, the company's new all-in-one desktop computer systems, featuring a new touchscreen display. As anticipated, the new models have been designed to provide users with a mainstream level of performance, based on Intel's latest line of low-power processors. While one system will boast the chip maker's Core 2 Duo processors and the PM45 Express Chipset, the other one has been built on NVIDIA's ION platform.

With the launch, ASUS has highlighted three new systems, with the ET2002 and ET2002T boasting a 20-inch 16:9 widescreen display, while the ET2203T has been featured with a larger 22-inch 16:0 widescreen display. In addition, the first two have been designed on NVIDIA's low-power ION platform, combining a dual-core Intel Atom 330 processor with NVIDIA's own integrated graphics chip. At the other end, the ET2203T is based on a more performance-capable Intel PM45 Express Chipset, which combines Intel's Core 2 Duo processors with an ATI Radeon HD 4570 graphics chip.

The NVIDIA ION-powered systems, the ET2002 and ET2002T, are featured with 2GB of DDR2 memory, upgradable to 4GB, a 320GB SATA 5400RPM hard drive, Tray-in Super Multi optical drive, wireless 802.11 b/g/n and Gigabit Ethernet LAN connectivity, six USB ports, 3-in-1 card reader and HDMI connectivity. The main difference between the two models is that the ET2002T has been featured with the touchscreen display, while the first only boasts a normal display.

The Core 2 Duo-powered alternative features 4GB of RAM, a choice for a 320GB or a 500GB 5400RPM SATA II hard drive, optional Super Multi or Blu-ray optical drive, wireless 802.11 b/g/n and Gigabit Ethernet, and the same connectivity options as on the NVIDIA ION models.

Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing and availability at this time, but the systems are expected to make their way on retailers’ shelves soon enough.
