15% performance boost

ASUS has officially unveiled the new ROG EN9800GT graphics, as part of the company's successful Matrix Series. The newly announced product was first spotted last week, alongside another Matrix Series card, based on AMD's Radeon HD 4850. Designed to provide gaming users with a boost of graphics performance, the newcomer boasts, as you might have expected, a custom cooling solution specifically designed to cool down the overclocked GPU, memory and Shaders.

 

The new card has been designed to incorporate several unique features that will ultimately boost its performance level, compared with that of the reference model. The ROG EN9800GT is equipped with a powerful Hybrid Cooler, which has been designed to provide an optimum cooling when the GPU is in full load. When the graphics processor is not working at its full potential, the Hybrid Cooler enters a power saving mode.

 

In addition, the new Matrix graphics card from ASUS also features the iTracker software application, which offers four default profiles for entry-level gamers: Optimized Mode, Gaming Mode, Power Saving Mode, and Default mode. The application will also display real-time graphics card information, including GPU, Shaders, memory clock, GPU and memory voltage, GPU loading, GPU, memory, Power IC, ambient temperature and fan speed. iTracker can also be used to manually configure the card's GPU, Shaders and memory clock rates, as well as the GPU, memory voltage and fan speeds.

 

As far as performance goes, the Taiwanese manufacturer claims that the ROG EN9800GT graphics can provide a boost of performance of about 15%. According to ASUS, the card's GPU, Shaders and memory clock rates can be raised up to 750MHz, 2000MHz and 1735Mhz, from 600MHz, 1800MHz and 1512MHz, respectively. No details regarding pricing and availability have yet been made public, but the card is expected to become available for purchase very soon, so keep an eye on this space for more.
