Brings Eee PC 900HA with 160GB of storage

It looks like ASUS doesn't consider its current lineup of Eee PCs vast enough to meet the “insatiable” demand for those low-power, small-sized portable computer systems we now call netboooks. The latest to join the bunch of ASUS Eee PCs comes with similar specifications to those of a previously-released model, namely the 8.9-inch 900A. However, the new Eee PC 900H does bring some improvements and even a rather attractive price tag.

According to a leaked slide of ASUS' Eee PC roadmap, the Taiwanese manufacturer is expected to offer a total of no less than 23 Eee PC models. The latest 900HA is just one of the many newcomers, and was listed in the Smart Casual Eee PC category. It is basically built as an 8.9-inch netbook coming to provide its potential users with a relatively large capacity hard drive featuring 160GB of storage space. In addition, unlike the Eee PC 900A, the new model sports a 1.3MP web camera, instead of the VGA cam the former packs.

Aside from that, under the hood of the new Eee PC 900HA, you will find the basic netbook configuration, including the highly-successful Intel Atom processor, running at 1.6GHz. You will also get wireless 802.11b/g connectivity, 10GB of Eee storage, 1GB of RAM memory and a 4-cell battery, which should provide an adequate Windows XP experience. For all interested parties, the new Eee PC 900HA is already available for pre-order.

This point reached, we may as well mention that this is where things really get interesting. According to the listing on Amazon.com, the new Eee PC model, featuring the specifications just mentioned, can be yours for only $349.99. At this price tag, ASUS' new offer is obviously meant to compete with the Aspire One from Acer. We can't really say when the new netbook will be available for shipping but, when it does, it might just become one of the company's more successful Eee PC models.
