After recently announcing its new Core i7-supporting motherboards, built on Intel's latest X58 desktop chipset, Taiwanese manufacturer ASUS has finally seen fit to provide the world with a desktop gaming rig that boasts Intel's fastest desktop CPU to date. Part of the company's prestigious ROG family of products, the new desktop gaming rig comes built on an X58-based motherboard, and provides support for the latest quad-core, 45nm consumer processors from Intel, the Core i7s. In addition, the new desktop rig comes with several features that computer enthusiasts are likely to take advantage of.

ASUS hasn't been all that generous with fans so as to provide them a complete specifications list for the new ROG CG6190 Gaming PC, but it did mention some of the performance numbers behind this latest desktop gaming rig. According to the official line, the Core i7-based system can provide a 52% boost in performance for processing speed and 3G gaming applications, compared with the results of the previous generation quad-core desktop platforms.

Aside from building desktop and portable computer systems, ASUS is also known, especially among computer and gaming enthusiasts, for its high-quality and high-performance desktop motherboards and graphics cards. So, while the company has not yet specifically indicated the components of the new ROG desktop system, it is highly likely that it will be featured with some of the proprietary flagship motherboards and graphics cards.

All in all, the new ASUS ROG gaming desktop will offer users the computing power of Intel's latest Core i7 processors, which, combined with triple-channel DDR3 1333 memory and a multi-graphics setup, using either NVIDIA's SLI or ATI's CrossFireX technology, should deliver unprecedented levels of performance. In addition, the CG6190 ROG gaming desktop comes with a built-in biometric fingerprint scanner, a feature that is used mainly for portable computer systems, as a security measure. What's even more impressive is the 2-kilowatt dual power system and a custom liquid cooling system designed for whatever high-performance configuration you might think of.

Unfortunately, so far, ASUS hasn't specified the pricing and availability details for the new ROG gaming system.
