Well, it really seems that slowly, but surely, Asus' tablets (most of which were officially presented during CES 2011) are starting to go on sale, one of the first to get an official listing being the Eee Slate EP121, the world's only tablet to pack an Intel Core i5 CPU.

So, the aforementioned device has just popped up on Amazon's German website, where it's listed for no less than 999 Euro, which is a pretty hefty sum, all things considered.

Even more interestingly, it seems that users who really want to get their hands on the Eee Slate won't really have to wait that much in order to do so, since Amazon informs interested users that they'll start shipping the tablet on the 6'th of March.

For the aforementioned sum, customers will get a 12.1-inch, touchscreen-enabled device, featuring, beside the Intel Core i5 CPU, 4 GB of DDR3 RAM memory and a 64 GB SSD unit, all packed within a fairly slim form factor, measuring just 312 x 207 x 17 mm, at an overall weight of around 1,160 grams.

Naturally, the Eee Slate also offers plenty of wireless and wired connectivity and networking options, but also a webcam module, and even built-in speakers.

Given the fact that we're talking about a rather unique product (given its configuration, this thing is more similar to a Tablet PC rather than an Internet tablet), it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that its price point is closer to that of such a product, rather than to one of a device pertaining to the second category.

However, all of this leaves us wondering just how much the rest of the tablets in Asus' 2011 lineup will sell for, although we sincerely hope that they'll be priced under the EP121, because if they're not, it's quite likely that they might have a very tough time taking on the rather numerous such products already out there, some of which have received some heavy subsides from telecom carriers.
