ASUS already has a strong presence on the tablet market, what with the massive Eee Pad Transformer sales, but the company is getting ready to finally launch the Eee Pad Slider as well.

As far as tablets go, the Eee Pad Transformer is the one that, arguably, had the fastest and greatest success, selling out within minutes or hours from entering availability (repeatedly).

In the meantime, the company has been working on a different tablet, bearing the more or less self-explanatory name of Eee Pad Slider.

This 10.1-inch device has a physical keyboard which, normally, lies on the back of the product, but can slide forwards, acting as a sort of stand as well.

It has been in the making for quite some time now, but recent reports now say that availability will finally be attained before the ongoing month (September, 2011) is past.

Its price will be of $475, provided the storage capacity is of 16 GB, while those so inclined will have the option of spending $575 if they want 32 GB.

For those who want the specification rundown, the Eee Pad Slider relies on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-chip), a dual-core, ARM-based solution. 1 GB of RAM (random access memory) backs it up.

Also, the display is an LCD with a native resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and LED backligthing.

Furthermore, ASUS threw in a mini HDMI output, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, USB 2.0, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, GPS, a G-sensor, e-compass and two webcams (a rear 5 megapixel camera and a 1.2 mp front-facing webcam). All the components are packed inside a frame with a thickness of 17.3 mm.

Finally, the physical keyboard is of the QWERTY type and Android 3.2 (Google Honeycomb) is the operating system that this particular device will support, much like most other tablets do.
