Netbook pioneer ASUSTek has reportedly rescheduled the launch of its much-anticipated, Atom-powered Eee Keyboard for August, following previous news that the unique keyboard would be released this month. The uniquely designed keyboard has been initially announced early this year, during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where the company showcased an early design of the device. According to a recent report, the Eee Keyboard has been extensively delayed due to ASUS's indecision regarding the segment where the Eee Keyboard belongs.

Back in January, at CES, ASUS announced a new product that would take advantage of Intel's highly successful Atom platform, coming in the form of a multimedia keyboard with a built-in, five-inch touchscreen display. Equipped with 32GB of storage space on a fast SSD, the keyboard was said to be capable of stream HD content via a wide-band HDMI connection to the user's TV or monitor. Although it looked like ASUS had everything planned out for the new device, the company has repeatedly rescheduled the launch of the keyboard for various reasons. It now appears that the device is ready for launch and should drop by later this summer.

In a recent article on TechDigest, John Swatton, a marketing executive for the Taiwanese company, disclosed details about the launch of the much-hyped keyboard. According to the article, the ASUS Eee Keyboard would be rolled out at the end of August, although pricing details are yet to become official. ASUS has apparently had some issues in trying to figure out if it needs to create a new segment with its new product, just as it did with the Eee PC netbook.

Although the launch details are yet to be confirmed by the company, it looks as if gadget enthusiasts would soon be getting their chance at purchasing one ASUS uniquely designed Eee Keyboard.
