In Taiwan

It looks like almost everything that has the Eee logo on is due to become successful at a very fast pace, which suits ASUS quite well. No matter if we are talking about the Eee PC or its desktop version, the Eee Box, ASUS' Eee products are among users' favorites. An example of ASUS' success comes from Taiwan, where the company announced its Eee Box last week.

According to Digitimes, since the product was officially unveiled back on July 30, the initial shipment of Eee Box systems has been completely sold out. We are talking about approximately 1000 units sold in less than a week, after it was made available. The number could have been higher if ASUS had initially provided the Taiwanese market with a much more significant number of Eee Box systems. In that case, we would have probably seen how successful ASUS' product actually is.

Nevertheless, the company doesn't want to take the same road again and repeat its mistakes, therefore it has already started restocking products. According to Digitimes, an upcoming offer will come as a bundle which will include a mouse, keyboard and an Eee Stick motion controller. All these, alongside an Eee Box system, will be priced around NT$ 13,000 (US$ 423) and will be made available by the end of September.

As a reminder, the Eee Box B202 desktop system is based on an Intel chipset and is equipped with the 1.6 GHz N720 Atom processor which also powers most of today's netbooks. The small-sized desktop will provide its users with a Windows XP operating system, 1GB of memory, WLAN 802.11 b/g/n and 80GB of storage space. The system is provided in either a black or a white chassis color, but if the product's successful streak continues, we might see ASUS release a couple of other differently colored models.
