This seems to be one of those days, and weeks, when a company or another decides to refresh more than just one product lineup. In terms of motherboards, the outfit can be seen as more than prepared, having unleashed not just the ROG Rampage III Formula, but also the Sabertooth X58. The PC and hardware supplier is also supposedly working on the Eee Tablet. Now, it seems ASUS also wants to update the entry-level, compact desktop market. Thus, it brought forth the EeeBox PC EB1501P.

The EeeBox PC EB1501P is a nettop that, unlike previous such machines which settled for more basic capabilities in exchange for space-efficiency, is actually multimedia-ready. To be more specific, the new EeeBox model measures 193 (W) x 193 (H) x 39 (D) mm but still packs enough parts to let it playback Full HD multimedia files. The part that allows the machine to handle such tasks is, unsurprisingly, the NVIDIA ION 2 graphics solutions. As for the rest of the configuration, it is made up of the Pine Trail platform and matching storage, memory and I/O options.

The central processing unit used is the Intel Atom D525 chip, whose clock frequency is 1.8 GHz. This CPU is backed up by 2GB of RAM. Also, storage space, 250GB to be exact, is brought in by a hard disk drive. As for connectivity and I/O, Gigabit Ethernet is complemented by 802.11 b/g/n/ WiFi, while intercommunication with peripherals and displays is accomplished via the HDMI output. Finally, ASUS threw in a card reader and the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.

In Europe, the ASUS EeeBox PC EB1501P has already been set up for order and costs roughly 449 Euro. Interested consumers need only visit the official product page on the company's website if they wish to see get full information.
