Earlier this month, the first pictures of ASUS’ first Chromebook, the C200 has appeared online, gives enthusiasts a chance to take a look at the device before the official announcement.

ASUS is expected to release another Chromebook model, the C300, but this version wasn't spotted in the pictures.

Now the two Chromebooks have been listed with two separate online retailers, one in the US and one in the UK, indicating that the products’ launch is imminent.

The two laptops will be available in several models and with varied configurations. We also get to see the price tag for which these two new Chromebooks will apparently sell.

The smallest model is the ASUS Chromebook C200Ma, and comes in at least three alternate versions, in the form of C200MA-EDU, C200MA-DS01, C200MA-KX002.

However, all will be fitted with an Intel Celeron dual-core N2830 (Bay Trail) clocked at 2.16GHz fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal eMMC memory.

The laptops will arrive with an 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 3-cell battery.

According to the listing on the website, the ASUS C200 will start shipping out to customers in May 2014 for $260 / €188 a pop.

The larger one, the ASUS C300MA Chromebooks comes boasting a screen comparable to the Toshiba and Samsung 2 Chromebooks, meaning a 13.3-inch one, but the resolution is just 1366 x 768 pixels (like the Toshiba’s).

The model mentioned above will bundle an Intel Celeron N2830 processor fitted with 4GB of RAM and 16GB eMMC.

The Chromebook also incorporates Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 4-cell battery. There’s going to be an option of adding 32GB of storage onboard, as well. The device will start shipping in late April in the US, with prices starting at $333 / €230.

The laptops are going to become available in silver and black coloring options and they weight around 1kg / 2.2 lbs so they are as light as any Ultrabook around.

The Chromebooks don’t include any options for touch or full HD resolution, but these functionalities will probably be added with the future generation.

ASUS is currently a novice when it comes to Chromebooks, completing the long line of brand vendors that have released Chrome-OS laptops on the market, which includes big industry names such as Samsung, Lenovo, HP, Dell, Toshiba and Acer.

Stay tuned as we wait for the official presentation, due to come any moment now!
