Unless you want the shroud black, it's as good a card as any of the others

ASUS is, of course, not about to miss the AMD Radeon R9 290 party, especially not when the card is so very deceptively cheap.

The company has released a Radeon R9 290 card, with 4 GB GDDR5 VRAM and a GPU clocked at 948 MHz.

There's nothing here you haven't heard before: 2560 stream processors, 5 GHz memory clock, interface of 512 bits, bandwidth of 320 GB/s, 160 TMUs and 64 ROPs.

Needless to say, AMD TrueAudio and EyeFinity are fully supported too, as are DirectX 11.2 and AMD's new Mantle application programming interface (API).

As for connectivity to displays, there are DiaplayPorts and DVI outputs available (Eyefinity 6 supported, for six-display outputs).

Needless to say, the price of $399 / €399 should be more than exciting enough for this thing.
