ASUS has already unleashed a sizable collection of hardware products and systems at the 2011 CeBIT expo, but it definitely didn't stop until it had one of the biggest exhibitions, now revealed to include a new Blu-ray player.

With all the products that ASUS brought to CeBIT, users are possibly divided between those that expect more and those that are wondering how it is that ASUS hasn't exhausted its supply of new electronics yet.

Either way, it seems that there is still something up its sleeve, something that has some features in common with the BW-12D1S-U, its new external Blu-ray drive.

The product in question is the ASUS O!Play BDS-700, a Blu-ray player capable of even 3D playback in native high-definition.

The product has several assets, such as the Qdeo video post-processing technology, which allows for the above, as well as for upscaling DVD content in 480p quality.

Needless to say, since it is created for playing multimedia, a large variety of audio, image and video, plus subtitle file formats are supported.

Either way, the machine can play directly from even external storage devices, thanks to the built-in USB port, while built-in Ethernet enables streaming from such sites as YouTube, Netflix, Flickr, Picasa and Pandora. Even Internet radio is supported.

What's more, for those that want as few cables lying around as possible, ASUS implemented 802.11n Wi-Fi, so that streaming across a network and from cloud-based content providers is among the possibilities as well.

Other features are 7.1 channel surround sound (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD), DLNA support, an independent audio-only HDMI port and support for smartphone remote control.

Among the compatible mobile phones are Android devices, iPhones, Blackberry, Symbian devices and Windows Phone 7 products. Unfortunately, the press release had no information on when the Blu-ray player will debut or how much it will sell for when it does.
