To be bundled with the Eee PCs

Following a rather lengthy period of media hype, ASUS has finally rolled out its Wiimote-like Eee Sticks. As most of you must already know by now, the new Eee accessories have been designed with the clear purpose of allowing users to have a better gaming experience. Given all this, the company has just announced that the Eee Stick is going to come bundled exclusively with certain models of the company's Eee PC and Eee Box lineup.

It's almost impossible to say that ASUS did not turn for inspiration for the Sticks towards the gaming controllers found on the one of the world's most successful gaming consoles, the Nintendo Wii. The Eee Stick consists of two controllers, which resemble the Wii Nunchuck, and an USB dongle. All three products are currently available only in white, but given the wide range of color options for the company's Eee PC lineup, chances are ASUS will also release the Stick in several other shades.

Unlike the Wii Nunchuck, which is powered by the Wiimote, both of ASUS' Eee Stick controllers require two AA batteries. Each of them will provide users with a different set of functions, as one features a built-in joystick and four game keys, while the other has a mode switch and seven game keys. Both controllers boast 8-way 3D motions, 2 LEDs, fully programmable keys, and are vibration-capable. The provided USB dongle has an effective range of 10m and works at a 2.4GHz.

Along with the release of the new Eee Stick, the Taiwanese manufacturer has also announced that it will be made available in special bundle packages, which will also include a collection of games developed or adapted specifically for the new device. Although the company hasn't specified if it also plans to market the Eee Stick as a standalone product, it did say that the device was theoretically compatible with all PCs, but its functions would be put to a better use in games specially developed for it.
