ASRock has already caused a significant number of waves with its motherboards from the Extreme line, such as the Extreme3. Now, the same hardware maker has made a move on the high-end front and unleashed yet another member of this collection, dubbed 890GX Extreme4. This product combines high-quality circuitry and features with support for the latest processing, graphics and connectivity technologies, as would be expected from an enthusiast-grade electronic device.

The 890GX Extreme4 was specifically designed with the purpose of supporting the latest and most powerful central processing units from Advanced Micro Devices. This includes not only the top-grade dual-core, triple-core and quad-core chips, but even the Thuban hexacore units. ASRock also implemented four DDR3-1866 memory slots and an 8+2 phase power design.

From the product's name, one can deduce that the platform is built around the AMD 890GX chipset with integrated graphics. The solution present is the ATI Radeon HD 4290, backed up by 128MB of SidePort memory. Needless to say, for those that want better graphics, a number of PCI Express Slots, three to be exact, are ready and eager to power single or multi-GPU setups, such as CrossFireX or Hybrid CrossFireX. What's more, the board employs not only five SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, but also USB 3.0 SuperSpeed connectors.. All in all, the product should cater to all the high-speed needs of enthusiasts.

Needless to day, ASRock was careful to provide all the necessary connectivity and I/O options, including Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, eSATA, FireWire, video outputs (D-Sub, DVI and HDMI). Other features are a debug LED and buttons for Power, Reset and a Clear CMOS. Unfortunately, pricing details were not disclosed.
