14 DAY TRIAL // ASRock doesn't seem to care too much about AMD's Bulldozer release date, as it has just announced its first Fatal1ty motherboard based on the 990FX chipset destined to be used together with the upcoming FX-Series processors.
The motherboard is dubbed the Fatal1ty 990FX Professional, and, once available, it should become ASRock's most advanced solution to support AM3+ processors.
These will be powered by a 16+2 phase digital PWM and ASRock says that its creation can support CPUs with a maximum TDP of 140W as well as DDR3-2000+ memory frequencies.
In addition, the board is also compatible with two-way AMD CrossFireX and Nvidia SLI multi-GPU setups since the Fatal1ty 990FX Professional comes equipped with two full speed PCI Express x16 slots. The third PCIe x16 slot has only four lanes routed to it.
The rest of the expansion options include a pair of PCI Express x1 slots, dual 32-bit legacy PCI slots, as well as six SATA 6Gbps ports.
Two additional SATA connectors were router to the back of the motherboard, where they are joined by a pair of USB 3.0 ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, a Firewire connector, two PS/2 ports and by 7.1 channel audio with optical and coaxial S/PDIF outputs.
ASRock has also installed two so-called Fatal1ty mouse ports, which allow for the pulling rate to be adjusted from 125Hz to 1000Hz.
Four additional USB 3.0 connectors are available through a pair of on-board pin-headers.
Since the Fatal1ty 990FX Professional is targeting gamers and enthusiast users, ASRock included a series of more advanced options, such as on-board Power and Reset buttons, a rear I/O Clear CMOS button and a POST80 debug LCD.
Unfortunately, we don't know anything about the release date or the pricing of this board. AMD's FX-Series processors are allegedly expected to arrive in October of this year. (via PCTreiber)
