ASRock is just one of the companies that will show off their products at Computex, but it looks like it already assisted to an event, where it put on show a certain mainboard based on Intel's most recent chipset.

The past couple of weeks have been rife with sneak peeks and reports about hardware products that will be on show at the upcoming trade show in Taipei, Taiwan.

In this case, it is ASRock that let the world take a look at a motherboard, although the first demo was already made, at a joint ASRock-Thermaltake Event.

The platform is built around the Intel Z68 chipset and features four DDR3 memory slots, three PCI Express x16 slots and a red and black color scheme.

Additionally, the product boasts a rear panel that is quite rich in components, although one will find more than just the expected PS/2, USB 2.0 (three ports) and Gigabit Ethernet (two).

In fact, ASRock went to the trouble of putting in a special USB 2.0 port with adjustable mouse polling rate, plus FireWire, eSATA and four USB 3.0 connectors.

What's more, users will find 7.1 channel audio connectors (with optical S/PDIF out) and two HDMI 1.4x outputs, plus D-sub.

All in all, one might say that this newcomer is, to some extent, similar to the Fatal1ty P67 Professional, although the heatsink has the color scheme in reverse, for easier recognition.

Of course, this predecessor had largely different ports and plugs on the I/O panel, but the rest of the layout resembled the newer product quite a bit.

With this release, one can safely say that ASRock's incursion into the mainboard market has been a success, even though it has yet to match the share of ASUS and Gigabyte, although it did overcome MSI, for instance.

All that remains is to see what motherboards come next and if the number of customers continues to increase.
