The 2007 NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) show in Las Vegas (April 14th -19th) has been chosen by APT as the official launch for their newest and most advanced multi-interface, multi-algorithm (incorporating MPEG 1/2 Layer II/III, MPEG 4 AAC, G.711 and G.722) audio codec for the broadcast sector.

This piece of gear is one of the ultimate devices one can choose in the moment when communication has to move to the "futuresque" IP-base. The WorldCast Eclipse brings utmost flexibility for unicast and multicast interoperability while delivering signal through a broadcast-grade digital signal processor.

The Eclipse is a highly-professional piece of equipment destined for the professional environments as it offers a very stable and broad platform for the IP-based communication. The Codec Management System software is included "in the package" so the extended application possibilities are obviously noticeable, the WorldCast Eclipse's performance being suitable for tweaking according to case-to-case needs.

Jon McClintock, commercial director of APT declared to Pro Sound News-Europe that "the WorldCast Eclipse in response to a very real need in the market for a professional IP audio codec that enables broadcasters to take advantage of the benefits of IP audio networking without sacrificing the quality and reliability that they enjoy in the synchronous world". As said by APT, the WorldCast Eclipse comes with full automatic back-up, silence detect, contact closures and alarm ports.

APT plans to showcase more gear at the April 2007 NAB show, such as WorldCast Horizon and WorldCast Meridian, other two exquisite tools for the IP-based communication industry.
