AOpen announced the official launch of a new barebone computer system that is aimed at home users that wish to enjoy a rich multimedia experience. The new XC Cube EX945-GC is the latest addition to the AOpen XC Cube product family and this mini computer system comes with the latest and most advanced hardware components available, like the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, which is based on the Conroe processing core. The AOpen barebone brings the ultimate 64-bit computing performance which is coupled with the latest Microsoft Windows Vista operating system in order to let users enjoy a rich multimedia experience.

On the hardware side, the AOpen XC Cube EX945-GC barebone computer system supports Intel processors, which are based on the LGA 775 socket, such as the Intel Core 2 Duo, Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron central processing units. As a wide selection of processing units is available, users may design and scale the processing power of their barebone multimedia computing system according to their needs. Because of this design philosophy, the AOpen XC Cube EX945-GC is able to cover a very wide area, from the low end and cheap systems designed primarily for multimedia to the high end and costlier computers that can keep up the pace with the latest games and applications.

The manufacturing company integrated into the new barebone a high energy efficiency power supply unit which is designed to meet the future scalability and expandability needs of users and which - thanks to its high 275W output - is able to keep the pace with the latest hardware components. The system also comes with two integrated Serial ATA II ports and a maximum number of 8 high speed USB adapter of which two are located on the front panel for quick access. One PCI Express x16 and one PCI Express x1 expansion slots are also present, so users needing to upgrade the barebone system will find it easy to do so.

For those users that do not demand the increased performance that is offered by a discrete graphics card solution, AOpen used the Intel GMA950 Graphics Engine which integrated into the motherboard chipset. Also integrated into the motherboard is a high definition audio 7.1 channel solution.

''Since its introduction more than three years ago, AOpen's XC Cube product line has received a positive response from global key markets. The feedback and user experience we've gathered are testaments to the superiority and stability of the XC Cube mini bare system compact product family,'' said Tony Yang, AOpen's senior marketing manager and spokesman.
