AOC, together with LG and ViewSonic, keep pushing into the market new passive 3D monitors on what seems to be a regular basis, and the latest such display to come out from the trio is AOC’s e2352Phz which has now went on sale in North America.

The e2352Phz relies on a FPR (Frame Patterned Retarder) panel in order to add the sense of depth to the images displayed.

This technology was developed by LG and unlike most other 3D-enabled monitors and HDTV available out there uses polarized passive glasses that have the advantage of being lighter as well as brighter than their active shutter counterparts.

In the case of the 23-inch e2352Phz, the FPR panel installed has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, while also boasting a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000,000:1, a response time of 5ms, with the typical brightness being rated at 250cd/m2.

A pair of 2W stereo speakers are also built-in inside the display, and connectivity options include VGA, DVI-D and, of course, HDMI 1.4a with HDCP support.

To ensure all users have access to a plethora of 3D content, AOC’s e2352Phz monitor also comes bundled together with a special software that can convert 2D content into 3D images.

“AOC’s new flicker-free 3D monitor lets you experience what 3D was meant to be – with clear, bright and vivid images that make your display come to life,” said Robert Velez, AOC Marketing Manager.

“Whether you are gaming on your computer or watching your favorite movie, this high quality 23-inch monitor can’t be beat in terms of value, features and price point,” concluded the company’s rep.

The AOC 3D monitor, (product code e2352Phz) is available as we speak for $299, or roughly 232 EUR, at TigerDirect.com, BestBuy as well as through other retailers.
