AOC has been silent for a while, no doubt working on its next device aimed at the masses, but it has once again finally stepped in the spotlight in order to reveal its latest monitor with Full-HD display capabilities and a special function that optimizes colors. While almost ready to start shipping, the new AOC display, known as 2330V+, aims to merge both glossy style and sharp colors in a large frame, looking ready to head for the mainstream market.

The new monitor is currently slated to make its first appearance in Europe and comes in a glossy piano black finish. In order to fully take advantage of the latest multimedia quality and high-graphics games, the monitor supports the Full-HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

This high resolution is complemented by the dynamic contrast ratio of 30,000:1 and a quoted brightness of 300cd/m², which is brighter than that of many recent displays. On the other hand, the display solution lacks HDMI input, relying only on VGA and DVI inputs. Still, the DVI is HDCP compatible and the display's response time is of 5ms.

It seems that the new monitor's connectivity capabilities are not exactly the most world-shaking, but AOC does promise that the actual image quality will be significant. The display manufacturer implemented its “Dynamic Color Boost” function. This technology supposedly optimizes colors, giving an extra degree of realism by “leaving skin tones looking more natural and blue skies more blue.” Unlike most recent LCDs, however, the AOC 2330V+ does not use LED backlighting, employing, instead, traditional fluorescent lamps.

AOC likely traded extra functionality for allowing its high-quality video capabilities to be more price-accessible. As such, the stand has no height or rotation adjustments. The actual price tag has not been officially disclosed, but it is known that the monitor should arrive in Europe next month. The price will likely revolve around $150.
