The IT industry goes to court

I don't know if you have taken the time to read the 48 pages of the document which motivates AMD's decision to sue Intel. If you haven't, maybe you should take half an hour of your time and do it, especially since the language is very accessible and it doesn't have the legal, usually boring details, such a complaint has.

As you read, you might have the impression you are reading a police novel where the good guy, in this case AMD, gets beaten up constantly by the bad guy, Intel.

The detailed descriptions of Intel's practices which lead to AMD not being able to sell its products to major PC companies, make you feel like you are reading "Cosa Nostra for dummies" rather than a legal document.

Leaving the jokes aside, AMD's allegations (if they prove to be true) concern all the players from the IT world. The report mentions 38 companies, including famous companies, like HP, Dell, Gateway, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Sony.

The problem is that many of the accusations are based on e-mail messages or talks between company officials. It remains to be seen what proofs AMD will have to back their complaint, but considering that by publishing it online, the company is now alone, we can only wait for the trial of the century.

If AMD is decided to go all the way, then Michael Jackson's trial will be a simple joke compared to this one.
