The cards were at the top in the old times, so AMD plans to have the same glory again

About a month ago, AMD announced its plans to revive the All in Wonder cards series. The graphics chips manufacturer released the boards in the US back then, with support for the American TV standards. The company has just announced that it plans to get the cards back to the European market as well.

The All in Wonder ATI cards combine the Radeon graphics and TV Wonder HD tuner technologies in a single PCI Express 2.0 solution. The cards enable users to transform their PCs into real multimedia centers. HD Blu-ray movies, high performance TV rendering and recording or high-def gaming and life-like graphics experience are all made available through the use of an All in Wonder card.

Users are enabled to build personal video libraries by recording TV, creating or editing their own movies. The cards also have support for Microsoft DirectX 10.1 technology, allowing the latest games or the most demanding graphics applications to run on the machine.

The company said that the PAL / Secam tuner version designed for Europe is almost ready, and that users would be able to get one of the cards in their hands by the end of the year. Although the American versions of the cards are said to be selling for three weeks now, it seems that they are not available these days. The cards include the Radeon HD 3650 chip, a rather obsolete one.

ATI is aiming at having the cards on the market as they used to be. Not to mention that the company was quite proud of them, as they were unique and became a landmark back in the good old days. Nvidia, ATI's strongest rival, was unable to come with a card competitive enough to match the All in Wonders, so AMD is probably thinking about regaining the glory of those times.

Hopefully, the cards will arrive to us before Christmas time.
