The chip may not be selling, but the Internet got to see a preview anyway

AMD broke quite a few hearts when it revealed that it wouldn't sell the 5 GHz and 4.7 GHz FX-9590 / FX-9370 CPUs to consumers.

Now, a benchmarking preview of the 5 GHz FX-9590 has surfaced, adding some extra cause for sorrow.

Simply because the chip seems to be quite good, and this will only increase the grief of those who would like to buy it standalone and build their own PC with it.

Hopefully, AMD will reconsider its stance here, but until it does, we can only stare at these charts and scores.

A user from VR-Zone Forums is the one that tested the $1000 / €780 – 1000 chip, with its 220W TDP and high vCore (1.5V).

Now we just have to wait for custom PC builders to start introducing desktops made with the unit, and its 4.7 GHz sibling.
