The hash tag #2betterthan1 is not the only hint we have that this is about the video board

The past week saw the emergence of more than one leak and teaser about the upcoming AMD Dual-GPU graphics card, and now we get to see a new teaser from the company.

Instead of publishing some materials or posting an announcement on Twitter of Facebook, AMD went for something more physical.

That was how the folks at AnandTech received a pair of potato chip boxes and a bottle of volcanic water.

The three items all bear the “#2betterthan1” hashtag, so they can only refer to the Radeon R9 295X2.

There was a letter too, at least, addressed to Special Agent Smith and entreating him to use his “keen intellect” to “influence others.”

As far as marketing stunts go, it's a pretty blatant one, but no one said it was illegal for them to be so. Besides, Advanced Micro Devices did stuff like this before, like when it prescribed Verdetrol pills to websites in anticipation of its Cape Verde GPU back in early 2012.

That said, we have to mention that the water bottle contained Waiakea “Hawaiian Volcanic Water.” Obviously, it is a play on the name of the GPU that will be used on the card, and which powers the high-end R9 series: Hawaii.

Add to that the quote from the bible (Ecclesiastes 4:9: “Melius est ergo duos esse simul quam,” meaning “two are better than one”) and the teaser is complete.
