The Sunnyvale company gains recognition for its Elite Mobility APU

Even though Advanced Micro Devices has officially dubbed its low-power, tablet-centric accelerated processing unit Elite Mobility, I, like most everyone else, will keep using the Temash moniker, seeing as how everyone is already used to it.

Apparently, the company has quietly acknowledged the inescapability of this situation, as it used the Temash name in its new press release.

And by press release, I mean the announcement that the tablet-ready chip, which can also be used in hybrid and clamshell notebooks, has won the 2013 “Best Choice of Computex Taipei” Award.

Or perhaps I should say “chips,” since there are several dual-core and quad-core models incoming.

Obviously, this is a great honor, and one that, no doubt, will net AMD more design wins that the Temash might have scored otherwise.
