Shortly after announcing one of the most important performances ever, by outselling Intel in the United States, AMD is now cutting back prices on a wide variety of processors.

Almost every category of processors has been included in this new price scheme. The company has reduced prices for the mobile Turion 64, the dual-core desktop Athlon 64 X2 series, Mobile Athlon 64 products and for both mobile and desktop Sempron processors.

The only products not affected by this price change are the Athlon 64 and Athlon 64 FX. Further more, AMD has announced the end of production for a few of these processors. Users will have to say goodbye to Athlon 64, the 3000+ and 2800+ models, and also to the Mobile Athlon 64 2800+.

The Semprons aren't doing so well wither, as chips using the 754 Socket are also on their way out of production and all other Socket A and Socket 939, which do not support 64 bit instructions, will end up the same way.

The AMD's full price list is valid as of 24 October 2005 and can be consulted on the company's homepage.
