The FX series of AMD processors is almost upon us, but there might be some things preventing users from actually seeing the best of them, so AMD decided to spell out how one can avoid the pitfalls of PC upgrades.

The problem with new CPUs is that they sometimes need new motherboards, or at least updated BIOS versions.

AMD's FX Series, is no exception to this and, since some of them are showing up already, AMD willing or not, the Sunnyvale, California-based outfit has published an article for those who want to own one.

Available here, the article says what users should check before acquiring one of the chips (the BIOS versions, supported motherboard model) and make changes as needed (flash BIOS, buy new board, etc.).

Of course, the outfit made a point of mentioning that people should also buy a strong Radeon graphics card.
