As NVIDIA gets ready to launch the GTX TITAN Black that is not black, AMD is completing its existing lineup by filling price gaps left by the Radeon R7/R9 collection.

The Radeon R7 250X was launched just a while ago, for $99 / €99, and now we've learned of a rumor which says that a Radeon R9 280 will be coming out soon as well.

The report pegs it as a 28nm Tahiti-based card similar in many ways to the HD 7950 (1,792 stream processors, 112 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and a 384-bit GDDR5 memory interface, 3 GB memory).

The clocks aren't known, but they might be of 800 MHz for the GPU and 5 GHz for the VRAM.

The price is bound to be of under $300 / €300, since that tag is already borne by Radeon R9 28X.
