It is a way to appease gamers that don't plan to buy the Radeon R9 290X

Seeing a CrossFireX multi-GPU technology that doesn't need special bridge ports was a nice surprise when the Radeon R9 290X graphics card came out, but AMD has another one for us.

According to AnandTech, the company has also put together multi-monitor Eyefinity frame pacing driver.

That way, even those who aren't going to buy the new high-end video board can be happy over something.

That's right, the new frame pacing driver isn't restricted to the new video cards. It works on all 5000, 6000, and 7000 series in fact.

The software will come out around the middle of fall. Sadly, details are sparse. AMD only said that it was doing its best to get the fixes out as soon as possible, not why it was taking so long (clearly, users of multiple monitors want their images perfectly synced as soon as possible).
