Hawaii-based graphics card isn't on that level in all tests, but it's impressive anyway

AMD hasn't launched the Radeon R9 290X graphics card yet, so any reviews are premature, but I'm not about to complain about PCOnline.com.cn posting its own. Not when it reveals such interesting data.

The R9 290X was pitted against the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, GTX Titan and Radeon R9 280X.

R9 280X doesn't really measure up to the others, but the three mighty ones put on a show more than good enough to make up for it.

Radeon R9 290X bests the GeForce GTX 780 in pretty much everything, and nearly outdoes the Titan in 3DMark: FireStrike, and it easily wins in Metro: Last Light.

Alas, power consumption isn't that great, and might sour potential buyers despite these results.

Then again, if the price turns out to be that $699 / €699 we've been hearing about, that disadvantage may be very well neutralized.
