As those of you that are very interested in just about everything happening in the realm of GPUs probably know already, AMD plans to release its next-generation graphics card, the Radeon HD 6970, in late November, thus completing its lineup and being able to offer a complete range of revamped graphics processing unit just in time for the Christmas shopping season.

Also, if you follow regularly our technology section, you might have found out that, over the weekend, some interesting information pertaining to AMD's next Radeon GPU has made its way online, courtesy of several leaks, one of the most important pieces of information being the fact that, apparently, the November 22'nd release date will not be met, due to some manufacturing problems.

And now, in order to offer you an alternative to all of that NVIDIA GTX 580 talk that's been going on lately (and will certainly go on the next couple of days as well), here's a quick roundup of what we know, complete with a leaked photo of the card, available from Chinese website Zol (via Slashgear).

So, the Radeon HD 6900 Series card will be built on AMD's Cayman platform and will pack an impressive 1,535 stream processors, 32 ROPs, 96 texture units and a full 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

Furthermore, the area of connectivity is also very impressive, since we're apparently talking about two DVI ports, two Mini DisplayPorts, and an HDMI port.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether the Radeon HD 6970 will manage to best NVIDIA's GTX 580, both in terms of performance and pricing, but I guess that only time (and benchmarks) will tell us that.

However, since we've already reviewed the Radeon HD 6870 (and we'll most likely get a chance of testing the GTX 580 as well), we seriously encourage you to keep an eye out on our Reviews section, since you'll see plenty of cool stuff going on there in the near future.
