11 days ahead of schedule

Much like in a movie full of tension, where the suspense reaches the climax and everybody is anxious and can't wait to see what the outcome will be, in the computer industry the best way to achieve the same level of interest is to flood the market with information about an upcoming product, give a picture or two here and there, and then stop giving any more information for a long period of time. That is bound to rise some questions, everybody wonders what happened, why aren't they releasing any more information, what are they hiding, is there something wrong with the product, and so on.

AMD is one of the companies which has the "right" to do such deception to its fans and potential customers, just because of the state that the company is in at the present time; they started this "landslide" and had to move with the flow, otherwise they would be standing still in moving rush of water and soil, and they would have been carried away. But let us not digress, their intention is to keep everybody interested, and make people want that something they are selling. The R600 has to be a big hit, or nobody will play to their tune. And what is the best way to market a product that doesn't exist, make it appear, similar to a magic trick.

So the guys issued some press releases, some e-mails, all under the strict rules of the NDA, but knowing somebody is bound to break those rules, and quite honestly, maybe even hoping they do. Also, the partners that will be manufacturing the video cards have to bring to the market these products as soon as they are launched, to cope with the, supposed, request. So they have the cards as well, and sometimes one of the cards, accidentally eludes them and ends up in some well known hardware reviews website, or even more, in a shop, on sale. Such is the case with the guys over at we.pcinlife.com, which are apparently selling the ATI's R600 card.
