Coming to confirm everything that recent rumors claimed, AMD has just introduced its new HD 4800-series graphics card, the Radeon HD 4830. Specifically designed to fill the gap between the company's HD 4670 and the better performance HD 4850, the new card is meant to compete with other cards priced at $150 or less. More specifically, the new HD 4830 comes to provide users with an ATI alternative to NVIDIA's GeForce 9800GT. In addition, as is the case with all hardware releases, the latest Radeon 4830 graphics card has already been reviewed and tested, so you can get the general idea of what you should expect from it.

“The ATI Radeon HD 4830 graphics card is another example of how AMD’s scalable design strategy is paying off,” said Rick Bergman, senior vice president and general manager, Graphics Products Group, AMD. “With a single chip, we have been able to quickly and efficiently bring to market graphics card designs ranging from below $150 through $549 SEP, with leading performance in every segment. The ATI Radeon HD 4830 continues that great trend, providing tremendous value to gamers for less than $150.”

We mentioned the card's performance specifications in previous articles as well, but this time around we know they are official. The card is featured with an RV770LE GPU clocked at 575MHz, which is also the speed of the card's 640 Shaders. The new Radeon HD 4830 is equipped with 512MB of GDDR3 256-bit memory, much like the HD 4850, which features the RV770 GPU. The new card is CrossFireX capable, allowing users to easily improve their system's graphics performance by adding another HD 4830, and comes with a single slot cooling system.

As already noted above, several reviews of the card are already available on the Internet, which means that, if you happen to have been looking to upgrade your system's graphics performance, and have waited for the latest from AMD to drop, well, you should probably check out the card's performance. The guys over at Techpowerup have concluded, after performing extensive benchmarking and tests, that AMD's latest Radeon product is one of the best cards in its price range.
