AMD's live release for Hawaii will happen tonight, but that doesn't mean that those invested in the launch will hold off on speculations just because the time left is so short.

There actually already is a GPU technology event taking place in Hawaii at the moment.

There, Raja Koduri, the new corporate vice president of AMD's Visual Computing division, said, or at least hinted, that AMD would improve its software and drivers, addressing issues like CrossFire and Eyefinity.

In addition to that, some new tools are being made for game developers, and there should even be goodies for developers of software reliant on AMD Graphics Core Next architecture. Moreover, Linux users can expect some good news as well.

Raja pointed out that AMD's R&D budgets for software development are larger than in previous years.

For those that don't know, Raja Koduri left AMD for Apple at some point, but agreed to come back a few months ago. He said he was lured by the company's good people and culture, and the intellectual property it had amassed.
