It appears the already confirmed Hawaii HTX GPU is just a myth

You might be familiar with the rumors stating that AMD’s Hawaii XT was not the full chip. According to them, the company was working on a new SKU with Hawaii XTX processor.

Even as this information was seemingly confirmed as being authentic, Robbie Pyckhout of BlackHole Tec published an article in which he debunked this myth. And according to him, the Hawaii XTX doesn't exist at all.

A major spreader of the rumor that AMD’s R9 290X might not be the “full fat” Hawaii card was 8Pack from the Overclockers forum, but that information has been removed.

Nevertheless, reports claiming that the Hawaii HTX card is a real thing are quite wide-spread online, but sources familiar with the matter cited by Pychkhout want to put a stop to all the “nonsense.”

“I don’t know why this rumor persists, but there is absolutely no such product. For a modest sum, anyway could xray the die of a 290X and determine this for themselves.”

Furthermore, the sources went on to explain the recent W9100 workstation GPU is 44 CU part, but wouldn't you put the 48 CU part in the flagship model, if one such thing existed? This is the route taken by NVIDIA with their GeForce Titan product and it makes perfect sense.
