At least one retailer has cut the price by over a third of the total

You'd expect a chip like the 8-core AMD FX-9590 to hold onto its high price for a while longer, but it has been going down rapidly, and now a retailer is selling it for about as much as Intel's Core i7-4770K.

UK-based Aria PC is an international retailer that has the 8-core CPU listed for the price of £264 / $412 / €308.

That's a lot less than the £699 / $1091 / €817 it shipped for until not too long ago.

Clearly, despite all the media coverage and reviews, the AMD FX-9590, with its 8 cores, 16 MB cache memory, 5 GHz top clock frequency (4.7 GHz base) and 220W TDP, hasn't been selling as well as the Sunnyvale company may have dreamed.

Coincidentally, or maybe not so coincidentally, Aria PC has offered the chip at a discount price from the moment it came out, unlike US and other UK e-tailers that hold onto the $1000 / €900 mark.

For those that want a clear comparison, Intel's Core i7-4770K, priced at £263 / $410 / €307, is a 2.5/2.9 GHz quad-core with 8 MB cache and 84W TDP.
