We don't have a forecast, but last time we saw 15% of its workforce leaving

With the good reputation made by the new Radeon R9 series, and the information on Beema and Mullins APUs that was revealed recently, one might think that AMD is doing great, but that's not the case. In fact, AMD is preparing for a new wave of job cuts.

Back in October 2012, AMD laid off 15% of its workforce, which was a lot despite it being far less than the 20-30% some feared would happen.

Now, Advanced Micro Devices is preparing for something similar, according to VR-Zone (there will supposedly be an “all-hands” meeting in December).

Nothing is sure. This could very well turn out to be just a fake rumor. Still, we won't know for sure until December (that's when VR-Zone says more info will come).

AMD kind of has to cut some losses because it's running on credit right now, as it has taken $500 million / €371 million from some lenders via Bank of America.
