Confidential slides with information on Quad CrossFire, AMD 4x4 chipsets, DirectX 10 integrated graphics and more were leaked by Chilehardware. It seems that, currently, AMD/ATi is focused on the RD580 with 2 graphics card and 1 CPU. It uses HT and supports Dual Core AM2.

In Q1 2007 the same chipset will be able to support 3 graphcis card and 2 CPUs. The R600 graphics card will also support DX10 and Socket 1207 will also be introduced. It will support Dual Core.

In Q3 2007, we will see a Quad Core CPU for the Socket 1207. The next generation R600 will still be DX10 and a new chipset RD790 will be able to support up to 4 graphics cards and will support 2 CPUs.

As for the desktop chipsets, we will be expecting the RS690 and RX690 to be ready soon. They will be paired up with SB600 south bridge. The RS690 will integrate a X700 4 pipeline graphics core and can support HDMI and AVIVO. The RX690 is a standalone chipset which supports a single PCIex16 graphics slot. There is another RS690c for the value segment which probably will have fewer features with no HDMI and AVIVO support.

In 2008, we expect to see RD790 as the top notch chipset and it is expected to support Dual PCIex16 or Quad PCIex8. It will use HT3 for the AM2+. There will also be a RX790 which does not support CrossFire.

The north bridges RS790 and RS740 will both support HT3. The major difference is the DX10 support on RS790 while RS740 supports only DX9. It is unknown how many pipeline and what graphics core will RS790 and RS740 use. The new chipsets will also be paired with a newer southbridge SB700 which features 6 SATAII ports, 12 USB and has Flash support, as it's showed on Ocwforums.
