14 DAY TRIAL // Last night’s American Music Awards, the 2014 edition, which took place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, was a night for firsts: it marked the first win for Iggy Azalea since she went mainstream with “Fancy,” the first time Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift performed their brand new singles, and the premiere of two new tracks from Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.
The two took to the stage to introduce their brand new collaborations: Lil’s with Christina Milian, called “Start a Fire,” and Nicki’s with Skylar Grey, called “Bed of Lies.”
If you’ve been keeping up with music / celebrity news, you know that this is actually the second time that Nicki and Skylar perform this, debuting it at the European Music Awards earlier this month. But it was the US television premiere of the song.
Both performances are included in the video below because they were actually part of the same moment.
A few weeks ago, various reports claimed that Christina Milian, whose marriage to The-Dream ended in 2010 in the least amicable fashion possible, had finally moved on and gone public with another romance, with rapper / Young Money boss Lil Wayne.
The two were photographed together out and about a lot, be it leaving clubs or out on the town, running errands, which seemed to confirm talk about a romantic involvement. We can’t say if there was any truth to the rumors yet, but there’s a chance the whole thing was a planned PR move meant to boost interest in them because they were preparing to drop this collaboration into the world.
