AKG is one of the best-known Harman brands specialized in high-end audio solutions, and that's exactly what can also be said about their latest two products, namely the AKG K 830 BT and AKG K 840 KL headphones.

As some of you might notice, the two headphones offer a rather similar set of features, one of the most important differences setting them apart being the wireless technology they employ, namely Bluetooth in the case of the AKG K 830 BT and the Kleer wireless tech in the case of the AKG K 840 KL.

The first model, the K 840 BT, targets mostly users looking for a Bluetooth headphone they can employ both for listening to music and for taking calls.

For this reason, it comes equipped with ear-cup-mounted controls for the audio volume, take or reject calls, or pause or skip music tracks, as well as a directional microphone also placed on the ear cup.

Moreover, the device pairs to just about any Bluetooth-enabled devices (including here the iPhone and iPod touch), and is powered by a rechargeable battery that lasts for up to height hours.

The second product announced by AKG, the K 840 KL, targets mostly audiophile users looking for a way to enjoy no-compromise audio quality without having any wires get in the way, and that's exactly the reason why it comes equipped with the Kleer wireless technology, capable of streaming wirelessly CD-quality sound with uncompressed 16-bit, 44.1kHz audio reproduction at more than 65 feet (roughly 20 meters) from the audio source.

This model also sports volume controls right on the ear-cup, as well as an extended battery life of up to two weeks in normal use.

Pricing for the new AKG wireless headphones, while fairly decent, given their features, is not exactly very small, the AKG K 830 BT selling for around $249, while the K 840 KL is priced at around $299.
