At least from PowerColor

PowerColor indicated that the company is about to release an AGP version of the X1650 and X1950 Pro. The release of the AGP X1950 Pro is good news, since this interface has been neglected for a long time by ATI, and NVIDIA left this interface since the 7800 GS, showed BeHardware. If the specifications of this X1950 Pro AGP - using ATI's Rialto bridge - are equivalent to the PCI-Express version, this card might boost the performances of numerous outdated computers.

The announcement was made by Raymen Wu from PowerColor during an interview with NGOHQ. He said that "AGP will be around for quite some time yet. In fact, PowerColor will be introducing AGP versions of X1650 and X1950 Pro soon. There are still a lot of people that have systems that work perfectly fine and simply require a slight upgrade for their graphics". And I think he's right, as I can already see my PC starts to need only graphic processing power, being able to keep the pace with the other aspects.

Raymen also said that it's very important for them to be active in the community. "We don't want to be one of those companies that don't know who their users are and simply try to sell sell sell. Some of the recent developments include the WCG Finals and all across Asia, where we were the official VGA card for most of these tournaments. At the end of the day, we want to interact and be involved which will benefit our users and ourselves. [...] Expect great things from us in the next few months, as we expect the PowerColor X1950 PRO to take the mainstream market by storm; all the feedback thus far has been amazing. We have put a lot of effort in working with ATI and our partners for this launch. We will also be investing heavily in upcoming marketing campaigns. For the long term, we expect ourselves to be at the front of the pack, as we will continue to build on our success in the past."
