It's one of the more unusual “all-in-one” products out there

Portable HDDs are usually just that: portable HDDs, not Wi-Fi hotspots and definitely not auxiliary batteries for other gadgets. ADATA doesn't seem to have gotten the memo though.

Its latest product, the DashDrive Air AE800, is precisely that: a portable hard disk drive that also has an integrated wireless hotpot and a power bank.

It can connect to up to eight different smartphones, tablets or other devices at the same time, sharing 500 GB worth of data and providing Internet connection.

All it takes is for the connected devices to have the freely downloaded DashDrive Air Elite App installed (both for iOS and Android).

It's even possible to play 1080p video off the drive on three different screens at once, or 710p for five people.

As for the 5200mAh power bank, it can charge phones and tablets via USB 3.0 or 2.0. Sadly, we don't have a price for the newcomer.
